Amplifer Registrations open July 7th

Propel Youth Arts WA new initiative – Amplifier - is a FREE arts business workshop and forum designed to sharpen the arts business skills of Perth metro artists and arts workers aged 18-25 years.
Proudly supported by Foundation for Young Australians, the workshop and forum program through August-September 2009 consists of seven workshops and two forums to provide information equip young artists and artsworkers with a broad range of business skills, stimulate the growth of arts ideas and help make their art practice or project more commercially viable.
The series is aimed to provide professional development for artists and arts workers, exploring current arts issues, a space for networking and personal profiling opportunities.
Amplifier workshops that will be housed at Central TAFE include topics on:
- Made By Design - developing your arts project
- ITNet - development and design
- Pimp My Project - marketing know how
- Growing Money on Trees - how to get that grant
- Arts Law and Order - what you need to know
- Event 101 – make your event happen
- Tax, ABNs, GST – the basics for your arts practice
The forums, hosted at The Sugar Blue Burlesque Lounge, will address major topics including “Arts Survival” - making it in the arts world and being an entrepreneur and “Creative Collaborations” – profiling the formats of creative collectives and their operations.
Confirmed panellists to date for the “Arts Survival’ forum include: Laurence Leung (from ABC TV’s Choose Your Own Adventure), Jodee Knowles and Stormie Mills.
